Charlotte Jonckheer 3: PERSONALISED PROJECT / Paper Doors
Four paper panels created using Kozo paper and framed in oak. They are collages and functional objects. The graphical drawings reveal the quality of the paper through the various application methods used to create different textures. These are almost like leaf veins, offering visual tactility and subtle changes in shades of white. Strong graphical lines contrast with the subtle variety of textures. Matt and silky shine. The doors are designed to harmonise with the client’s interior through a process of exchange and prototyping that led to the final design.
When the doors are open, the graphical panels become two large artworks covering the walls. When the doors are closed, it is a functional piece that separates two rooms and creates a restful, meditative space.
