Charlotte Jonckheer 3: PERSONALISED PROJECT / Paper Doors
Four paper panels made from Kozo paper are framed in oak.
When the doors are open, the paper panels become two large artworks covering the walls. When the doors are closed, it is a functional piece that separates two rooms and creates a restful, meditative space.
The strong graphical lines are a result from different production methods that reveal the quality of the paper. The apparent textures are almost like leaf veins, offering visual tactility and subtle changes in shades of white: matt and silky shine. The doors are designed to harmonise with the client’s interior. A process of exchange and prototyping led to the final design.
