Charlotte Jonckheer   3: Personalised Projects / A Stone & Aged Metal Dining Table

To ensure a harmonious composition I matched the shape of this dining table to the client's interior. The design of the stone top is reminiscent of a speeding Jenny, a seed with a beautiful organic shape. Using this shape for a table creates a sense of dynamism and movement, activating the space. While remaining balanced.

The surface is made from the natural stone Donastya Donsato finished with hand-chiselled edges to enhance the tactility of the stone and make its characteristics visible. The solid surface is carried by a triangular steel frame. Its square profiles add elegance and a sense of airiness. The steel surface is treated to match the stone and is aged through oxidation. This freckeled surface adds softness and makes the steel more tactile, giving it a unique appearance, especially through the movement of light.

Personalised Projects

My personalised projects stem from a profound appreciation of materiality, craftsmanship, and the relationship between objects and spaces. Each piece has its own history, shaped through dialogue and exchange with the client, and adds value to the experience of exploring. These objects are designed to facilitate movement and provide a sense of balance for those who occupy the space.
